Domestic Violence
Program Purpose
ARSS's Domestic Violence / Batterers Intervention Program(BIP) is a structured, accountability-based intervention designed for individuals court-mandated following a domestic violence offense. The program addresses the root causes of abusive behavior, including power and control dynamics, distorted belief systems, and emotional dysregulation: while holding participants fully responsible for their conduct. The program prioritizes survivor safety and community protection as its primary goals.
ARSS Approach
ARSS implements a trauma-informed, evidence-based approach grounded in the Duluth Model and cognitive-behavioral theory, with a firm commitment to accountability over excuses. Facilitators are trained to maintain a structured, non-collusive group environment where abusive behavior is consistently named and challenged. Survivor safety remains central to every aspect of program design and delivery.
